With foot steering, it is fully hands free. The QC Rudder Blade features a kick up release to ride through obstacles, and can be fully retracted out of the water from the seat position. Convert the QC Rudder System to a NuCanoe EPS system by adding a #7210 QC Motor Mount in place of the QC Rudder Blade.
