SOLSTICE WALK ETCHING Michael Michaud mid-tone green glow that blanketsBrett Varney of Sechelt, British Columbia, uses oil pastel on black surfaces in combination with metallic leafing to create his colorful, impressionist landscapes. In his own words, his work is Van Gogh meets Kandinsky at Gustav Klimts house. In this image, the artist hand cuts the leaf material and applies it to the surface of the print, re creating the look of the original.
