Each card is double sided with a decodable word and a supporting image on the front. Front includes sound buttons beneath the word to aid decoding and encoding. Sound buttons are color coded with short vowels in red and consonants in blue. Lines or dashes mark digraphs and are color coded to match consonant or vowel patterns. Reverse side shows phoneme
